Nutella Hot Cocoa

4 servings

4 cups of milk

2 tablespoons Nutella

2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

2 tablespoons sugar

Christmas Wassail- warm punch

1 ½ cup sugar (start with 1 cup then add more as needed to taste)

¾ cup lemon juice

2 tsp. vanilla

2 tsp almond extract

1/8 tsp ground cloves

1 cinnamon stick

2 quarts water (add more water if the punch is too strong)

Combine all ingredients in a large pan or crock pot, let simmer and serve warm.

Cranberry Cider

1 quart apple juice or cider (1L)

1 quart cranberry juice

½ cup (120 ml) lemon juice

½ cup packed brown sugar (100g)

Serve warmed or cold

(add a cinnamon stick for flavor variation or whole cranberries for garnish)

Non-Alcoholic Bubbly Drink

1-12 oz can of frozen apple juice concentrate

2 quarts of sparkling water (1.89L)

Mix up the apple juice with the sparkling water and voila! Fancy juice!

Try it with other flavors of frozen concentrate as well.

Favorite Hot Cocoa

Combine ½ cup sugar and  ¼ cup cocoa powder in medium saucepan over low heat, add a dash of salt and 1/3 cup of hot water. Stir and mix well. Add 4 cups milk. Stir occasionally and heat through. Do not scorch. Remove from heat and add ¾ tsp vanilla extract. Serve in mugs with marshmallows or a bit of whipped cream on top.

Variation: add 1 cinnamon stick to cocoa while warming for a different flavor.

(We've tried other brands but think Hershey's cocoa tastes the best.)
A favorite Christmas music collection.
